STATEMENT OF FAITH

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, a revelation from God to men, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason.

II Timothy 3:16

GOD

We believe the one true God has revealed Himself as the self-existent, self-revealed “I AM,” and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, by eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 15:26

JESUS

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by which men are regenerated and granted life and grace to live godly and holy lives in the present evil world.

Titus 3:5, Galatians 5:22-23

MAN/SIN

We believe man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” Man, by voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Genesis 1:26, Romans 3:23

SALVATION

We believe that through the preaching and teaching of the Gospel message to all men, God draws those He will. In response to that preached Gospel, by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, man is able to embrace the things of God and enjoy the promises of eternal life. This salvation includes man's justification, sanctification, and glorification. It is a gift of God’s grace, and is received by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, totally apart from human merit or works.

SATAN

We believe that Satan exists today as the enemy of God and the accuser of God’s people. He persistently seeks to counterfeit the works and truth of God.

THE CHURCH

We believe the church on earth is the holy Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the great commission. Each believer is an integral part of the church and voluntarily dedicates his life to God and His Word.

GENDER IDENTITY, MARRIAGE, AND SEXUALITY

In an age of increasing confusion and declension as regards ethics and morals amidst the culture, and cognizant of Satan’s attempt to corrupt God’s good creation, The Rock Christian Academy desires to bring clarity and a reaffirmation of Scriptural teaching on these particular issues:

We believe that God perfectly and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one's biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

Genesis 1:26-27

We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between one man and one woman who are married to each other. We believe God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual conduct, bestiality, incest, or use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God.

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of The Rock Christian Academy and to provide a biblical role model to students and the community, all persons employed by RCA in any capacity, the parents/guardians in our community, and those who serve as volunteers, affirm, agree to and abide by all elements of this Statement of Faith, including those relating to gender identity, marriage, and sexuality.
