Curriculum
Method
The tutor’s responsibility is to prepare curriculum selected by the school and to organize 32 weeks of lessons in the subjects of Bible, Math, Language Arts, History, and Science. The tutors will share these lessons with the parents weekly.
These lessons should be easy for the primary home teacher to implement and involve roughly 2-3 hours of school work, depending on the grade and the ability of the child. Parents are not required to be on campus during school days but will have the opportunity to volunteer.
In-School Days
Highly qualified tutors will teach in-school days on Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30-2:30 in a classroom setting. Those days will emphasize key concepts and projects that reinforce those skills, all in a Christ-centered, community environment.
We are actively working to develop our curriculum plan by carefully selecting and assembling high-quality, faith-based educational resources that are congruent with our Christian values. K-3 grade core subject areas will be primarily ABeka. Upper grades will include BJUPress and Instiitute for Excellence in Writing (IEW). All grades will incorporate classical learning and a rich literature-based focus.
Vision
RCA's vision is to create a partnership with parents in education where Jesus Christ is our foundation, children learn and grow, and God is glorified.
